The group arrives at Munnar by morning or early afternoon, where our tour coordinators warmly receive them. After checking into the hotel and settling in, students participate in an orientation session that introduces them to the geography, culture, and ecological importance of Kerala. Post-lunch, the group visits the Tea Museum to learn about the history and processing of tea in the region. This is followed by a walk through a nearby tea plantation, where students can observe and interact with plantation workers, enhancing their understanding of agricultural practices. The evening is spent at leisure, with time for group discussions and a fun team activity before dinner and overnight stay in Munnar.

After breakfast, the group sets out for a full day of exploration. The first stop is Eravikulam National Park, home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr and known for its unique shola-grassland ecosystem. Here, students learn about biodiversity, wildlife conservation, and eco-tourism. After lunch, the tour continues to Mattupetty Dam, where students gain insight into hydroelectric projects and their impact on the region. A visit to the Echo Point and Kundala Lake offers a chance to understand acoustic science and the importance of water conservation in hilly terrains. In the evening, the group returns to the hotel for a short reflection session, followed by dinner and overnight stay in Munnar.

Post breakfast, the group departs for Alleppey, also known as the Venice of the East, a journey of approximately five hours. Upon arrival, students check into a traditional houseboat or hotel. They experience the famous Kerala backwaters through a guided cruise, which provides a firsthand look at the unique ecosystem, inland navigation system, and lifestyle of local communities living along the waterways. This is a wonderful opportunity to understand water-based rural economies, sustainable tourism, and environmental challenges. In the evening, the group participates in a cultural session showcasing Kerala’s art forms like Kathakali or Mohiniyattam, followed by dinner and overnight stay in Alleppey.

After breakfast, the group checks out and proceeds towards Kochi for departure (by train/flight) or as per the return travel plan. The journey concludes with happy memories, new friendships, and a deeper appreciation for Kerala’s natural beauty and cultural richness. Students return not just with photographs, but with valuable educational insights and real-world learning experiences.
